Dr. Patrik Frei is founder and CEO of Venture Valuation AG, Switzerland. Patrik graduated from the Business University of St. Gallen and completed his Ph.D thesis (”Assessment and valuation of high growth companies”) at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology, EPFL Lausanne. Prior to forming Venture Valuation, Patrik was CFO of a logistic company and  worked for several international corporations: LeCroy (Geneva, New York), Hans Merensky Holding (South Africa) and Swatch Group - EM Microelectronic (Marin). Patrik is a board member and one of the original founders of ineo, a holding company of the Swiss dental implant VC-backed firm Thommen Medical and a board member of Ophthalmopharma, a Swiss based biotech ophthalmology company.  Patrik’s articles have been published in a number of scientific journals including “Nature Biotechnology”, “Chimia” and other business publications (“Starting a Business in the Life Sciences: From Idea to Market” and “Building Biotechnology: Starting, Managing, and Understanding Biotechnology Companies”).   He has also lectured at Seoul National University, South Korea and Danube University Krems, Austria and presented at numerous Valuation workshops around the world.  More recently, Patrik was named as one of the 20 most influential people in the Swiss Life Sciences Industry by Bilan, a Swiss Business Journal along with other noteworthy individuals such as Ernesto Bertarelli, Daniel Vasella and Henry B. Meier.

Track record: Strategic analyst of business development activities at Pharmalicensing. Former positions include senior analyst of the biopharmaceutical industry at BioSeeker Group including researching and writing reports focused on oncology and infectious diseases. Prior to this, Mr. Ohlsson conducted oncology researcher at the Karolinska Institutet.

Track record: Several hotel management positions, Manager Academy for an internet company as well as serveral years assistant to the management of SV (Switzerland) AG. Additional training in organization and project management.

Alan joined Venture Valuation in 2012, he is responsible for conducting business development for the Biotechgate database which is a global, comprehensive information service encompassing the Life Science industry. Alan has extensive experience in the business development of innovative information services within the life sciences and previously worked for many years within the business development team at Pharmalicensing.

Track record: Extensive experience in business development in Japan, the U.S., and Europe; Co-founder of a Biotech company in Tokyo, Japan. Former positions include Head of Japan Operations at ACLARA BioSciences (now Monogram Biosciences) in Mountain View, California; Program Manager at Stanford University’s U.S.-Asia Technology Management Center; managing position at Rhône-Poulenc Santé (now Sanofi-Aventis) in Japan. Ms. Hirano holds a M.S. in Technology Management from Pepperdine University in Los Angeles, California, and a M.A. in French from Sophia University in Tokyo.

Track record: Graduate of the theoretical part of the IT Middle School at the Kantonsschule Enge, finishes his apprenticeship through a hands-on training as an IT Developer at Venture Valuation

Track record: Currently completing Master of Business Administration at the Univesity of St. Gallen, Switzerland. Writing thesis project on Valuation Trends in the Biotech Industry. Bachelor of Health Sciences from the University of Western Ontario, Canada. Spent several years working in sales and marketing for a small insurance company in North America.
